Welcome to our 2016 holidays.

Welcome to our 2016 holidays, which we hope you enjoy reading about.

We have compiled a great programme, starting with our first ever New Year holiday in Lisbon. This will include a New Year’s Eve concert with the Gulbenkian Orchestra, a New Year’s Day concert with the Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra and a Fado concert. We will have sightseeing tours of this historical city including a visit to the Palaces of Sintra and will eat in good local restaurants. Also new for 2016 is our “With Richard Wigmore” series where each holiday will concentrate on a particular composer. The eminent musicologist Richard Wigmore will stay with us for the holiday and give talks about the composer in question. Our own festivals this year will include the “Callino Festival at Dartington” a new festival in Dartington Great Hall with the Callino Quartet and friends.

John, Helen or Richard will accompany our groups on all of the holidays to ensure that everything runs as smoothly as possible. We normally have some sightseeing with well chosen local guides but this varies according to where we are. Some holidays are quite busy, others are very relaxed and of course nothing on the schedule is compulsory! It is our policy to give guests plenty of free time.
Although the holiday arrangements are made by us, we work in association with Specialised Travel Limited and are fully covered by its membership of ABTA and ATOL.

We hope you will join us!

With best wishes,
    John, Helen and Richard Whibley,
Catherine Hart and Jo Orme.
