West Cork Chamber Music

This unique festival takes place in Bantry, a small lively town, overlooking Bantry Bay, on the south west corner of Ireland. Evening concerts are held in the elegant 18th century Bantry House surrounded by beautiful gardens with a stunning view of the sea.  




The 2010 festival is featuring six international string quartets performing Mozart Quartets in the morning coffee concerts and Beethoven and Schubert in the (optional) late night concerts. The ensembles include the RTE Vanbrugh Quartet from Cork, Callino Quartet from London,  Artis Quartet from Vienna, Pacifica Quartet from California, Danish Quartet from Copenhagen and Alina Ibragimova's period instrument Chiaroscuro Quartet. Other musicians taking part are Philippe Cassard, Kirill Gerstein, Alexei Grynyuk, Angela Yoffe piano, Patrizia Rosario, Charlotte Riedijk soprano, Vadim Gluzman, Pekka Kuusisto, Nicola Benedetti violin, Harthut Rohde, Amihai Grosz viola, Leonard Elschenbroich, Johannes Moser cello, Nicholas Daniel oboe, Kate Hearne recorder, Jörg Widmann clarinet/composer and many more, to be confirmed.
